General Overview of the Service
Women have health issues related to pregnancy, menopause and body structure. Breast cancer, cervical cancer, endometrial cancer and ovarian cancer are specific to women. Some health concerns, like heart disease, are similar to men – but affect women differently.
Osteoporosis (thin bones) can affect men but is more common among women with more serious consequences.
We offer convenient services to keep women healthy at every life stage.
How the Service is Done
Breast exam – A clinical breast exam is performed by a healthcare professional who is trained to recognize many different types of abnormalities and warning signs.
Pap smear – Screening procedure for cervical cancer, to detect precancerous or cancerous cells on the cervix, the opening of the uterus.
IUD removal –I ntrauterine Device (IUD) can be removed because:
- You’re trying to get pregnant
- The device needs to be replaced
- You have serious discomfort or other side effects
- You no longer need this method of birth control
Removing an IUD is a simple procedure performed in our clinic.
Menopausal symptoms – Blood tests can determine levels of two hormones, follicle-stimulating hormone (FSH) and Thyroid-stimulating hormone (TSH) that typically decrease in menopause. Irregular periods or hot flashes are also symptoms of menopause.
Hormone therapy, bioidentical hormones, vaginal estrogen, low-dose antidepressants, and other medications can relieve uncomfortable symptoms of menopause. Your health practitioner can discuss these with you in the clinic.
